It has been a month since the lockdown on 18 March 2020. Many things have changed including our lifestyle, working and the environment around us. Since the government already announced the cancelation and postponement of UPSR, PT3 and SPM examination, there are some who feel relieved but there are also some who feel devastated regarding this cancelation and postponement.

Even with the decreasing number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia but still we need to be cautious and listen to the government advice. There is a possibility that schools will have to open just for SPM students and others might have to continue studying at home. But they will have further discussions on this matter. However, most parents are urging the government to close schools until further cases are solved for fear of their children’s health.

Some of the students have lost their interest in study and are stressed at the loss of teachers’ face-to-face moral support on studying. Maybe they have seen their family members become ill, or worse. Being trapped inside their houses, lack of social interaction with friends, and some of those who are unlucky and might have been abused; these are all instances that could lead to stress.

Even though the government have already introduced online learning, it is not the same as how they study at school. Hence, they need counsellors, mental health specialist and most importantly support from family and teachers
