Let’s join the Explorer Competition, a series of annual, online national school-level competitions that introduces students to various fields of study, such as language, astronomy, and geography!
The Explorer Competition consists of three categories: Language Explorer Competition, Galaxy Explorer Competition, and Earth Explorer Competition. Each category has its own syllabus, format, and benefits. Also, the competitions are open to primary and secondary school students from all over Malaysia.
Language Explorer Competition introduces language and linguistics knowledge to students and tests their logical and critical thinking skills.The questions cover topics such as syntax, word order, and phonetics.
The winners in secondary categories from this competition will be selected for the Malaysian Computational Linguistics Olympiad (MyCLO), and also Asia Pacific Linguistics Olympiad (APLO).
Participants also get the chance to be trained by professionals in linguistics. MyCLO serves as a platform to select the top eight students to represent Malaysia at the International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) in Brasília, Brazil, scheduled for July 2024.
Language Explorer Competition – Conquer the world with the power of language (myclo.my)
Galaxy Explorer Competition introduces general knowledge about the study of everything in the universe that is beyond the Earth’s atmosphere, such as the solar system and planets.
The questions cover topics such as force and motion, stars and galaxies, space weather, and space exploration. The winners in secondary categories from this competition will be selected for the Malaysian Astronomy Olympiad (MyAO), and also Asia Pacific Astronomy Olympiad (APAO).
Students will also have an opportunity to be trained by professionals in the astronomy field. MyAO is a platform to choose the best five students to represent Malaysia in the International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO).
Galaxy Explorer Competition – Galaxy Explorer Competition (myao.my)
Earth Explorer Competition introduces general knowledge about the study of the Earth and its physical features, such as continents, oceans, and climate. The questions cover topics such as maps, coordinates, time zones, natural disasters, and environmental issues.
The winners in secondary categories from this competition will be selected for the Malaysian Geography Olympiad (MyGEO) and Malaysian Earth Science Olympiad (MyESO)
Participants will stand a chance to represent Malaysia at the International Geography Olympiad (IGEO) 2024 in Dublin, Ireland and International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2024 in Beijing, China
